    Cats

Today B Aunty in Germany rang to say MItzy her 21 yr old cat had died in her sleep on her knee , she was most upset but Mitzy went very peacefully having a cuddle .

DD came to pick Josh up at tea time , she had all the pets to the vets today on mass
Buzz the naughty cat has had a heart murmur from being a kitten , its always been 3 on the scale but vet found it had jumped to 6 since last year .

DD asked if she should keep him in or do anything special but vet said no , he could live a few years yet and keeping him in would only give him more stress ,
He doesn't go far anyway out the front door round the house and in the back door , he gets his exercise terrorising poor Storm

He's also getting Arthritis in his leg that was broken when he was a kitten , poor lad getting the whole lot ,
He's a well looked after happy cat so he's had the best of lives , time will tell how far he can go

We miss our cats, nothing said about getting another, at least I can feed the birds.

I would love another cat. My Georgie was nearly 25 when he went but husband says no especially if we do manage the two months in Barbados every year in the future. I can see that. I did used to get stressed when I left him and upset when he got snotty with me when we came home. Georgie was full of arthritis and was almost blind, he also did a good line in wind from time to time so I think he might have lost his sense of smell as well!

Oma poor Buzz. The arthritis must be a bit of a worry for him if it stops him stalking Storm

I don’t know about cats but there are several natural things you can give 5o dogs with arthritis. I would think a forum for raw fed cats would be able to help even if he isn’t raw fed.

You do do miss your pets when you lose them, but B’s Aunty’s Mitzi had a long life and a gentle end. Poor Aunty’s will miss her though. X😢😢

DD2’s cat went ‘over the rainbow bridge’ this morning. He had surgery 10 days ago but nothing changed. The vet said he could operate again to take some of his colon away but there was no guarantee this would work. Butler was so miserable and wouldn’t eat. Many tears have been shed today.
My cat stinks! I think it’s the biscuits I give her. Her fur smells just like them. They are the only ones she will eat dammit!

The longer we have them the more we miss them, but to die peacefully on a loving knee having a cuddle at such a ripe age he was a lucky cat indeed.
Buzz is lucky too in having such a loving caring owner as your DD, Oma.

GM, I'm very sorry to hear about your DD's cat.

GM - I’m so sorry to hear about DD2’s cat. It sounds as though there was no alternative, but it’s still heartbreaking to have to say goodbye. Xxx

So sorry to hear about the cats who have passed over to green fields we have always had cats in the family and whilst I never was as fond as I am now of my Oliver I have always missed them when they have gone, 21 & 25 is a fine age don't you think they will be truely missed within the families.

Qwerty - I think most people realise that when they love a pet of any kind they become a hostage to fortune!

I don't know much about cats, but I'm looking after 3 at the moment while the owners are away. One is very timid, but after a day or two she will come close enough to touch my hand, and I always feel really pleased when she does that. Yesterday, one who is always leading the way to their food bowls didn't appear at all. This morning she didn't come when I went in the house. I called her, but she still didn't come. I immediately started worrying! She wasn't anywhere downstairs, and feeling as though I was intruding, I went upstairs to check and she met me on the landing, clearly thinking I was nuts! But she did them come down and eat her breakfast, thank goodness! The third one is a real softie and rolls over like a dog for me to tickle his tummy.
