Oh how excited they must all be! I'm sure his new name will suit him well

      I’m excited for them.
Do they have far to go to pick him up?

Yes, Gem - I think dogs grow into their name, a bit like children!

Clover - no, it's about 45 minute journey to the breeders, but between road work and Friday night traffic there's no knowing. I do know they will have two very excited children in the car!

Plant - they will collect him after work tonight. I don't know how any of them are going to get through the day though - they are sooooo excited.

I must admit, I'm just a tiny bit excited too, and looking forward to my first puppy cuddle, although DS2 has warned me to wear Kevlar socks and gloves!

                Thanks, Clover.

Yes, they are going to crate train him. They want to take him to work with them so he has to be containable. Most of their customers love dogs - but obviously not all of them! There's a very large room behind the shop part where DS2 and DIL both have a desk, plus lots of shelving for stocks of picture frames etc, and it can also double as a studio, so his crate - and a playpen! - will live in there. They're very lucky that there's a large recreation ground literally across the road from the shop, so they can take him out for toileting and a bit of exercise. As DS2 works mostly from his desk, Cooper will have plenty of company, plus all the visitors he will get!

Sounds like a good life for Cooper. What are Kevlar socks and gloves Daisy?

I think they are protective gloves , maybe to protect against puppy nips and bites with their little sharp teeth . Is that right Daisy ?

Kevlar is the wonder-protective-indistructable material. It's used for body armour, but it would certainly come in handy as protection against needle-sharp puppy teeth! LOL there's probably a market for anti-puppy goves etc somewhere!!!

We could use some of those gloves when atempting to de-knot our long haired cat!

I hope Cooper arrived safely and had a good first night.

Gem - I can imagine de-knotting a reluctant cat would be quite dangerous.

Cooper arrived safely, and apparently played, ate, pee'd, slept and then did it all over again. I haven't spoken to them yet this morning, but we'll probably go and see him later.

We went to see Cooper this lunch-time. He was asleep when we got there, but then woke up and asked to go in the garden for a wee 'n' poo! He's lovely (of course), very cuddly, but not as furry as I'd expected. He seems perfectly happy and slept for most of the night - he woke them about 4 am went in the garden, did the necessary and went back to sleep! He looks as though he needs to grow into his skin, ears and paws, and when he bends his head down he looks like a wrinkled old man!

The girls were delighted when he fell asleep on their laps.

So we had lots of cuddles, which made Eva very curious when we got back - she wouldn't leave us alone!
