Glamm - he is gorgeous. He's quite small compared with most of the other dogs in the litter, but he's getting extra feeds from his mum and the breeder is weaning them on to raw - he's already had his first minced beef meal and part of a chicken carcass.

I can't wait to meet him.

My SIL and DD have decided to replace their Retriever although they said no more pets they find they miss having a dog. they have found a KC registered breeder and have third choice of which puppy when they are born in November, so they will be looker for names too. their previous Retriever was called Amber.

Plant - I'm so glad your DD and SIL are having another dog. I know how much you all missed Amber - she was lovely. We weren't going to have another one after Clyde died, but there we were 5 weeks later, bringing Eva home!

Nanto - Cooper is one of the two frontrunners at the moment.

Whose dog is this going to be Daisy? Yours? I voted Toby as that was the name of the dog my grandparents had when I was a child. I don’t really like dogs (scared of them) but I did like Toby. That was in the days when dogs lived in a kennel outside in all weather, had scraps for meals and were not allowed indoors. Probably never saw a vet in his life either,

Zizi - he's my DS2's new dog. They have been without a dog since March, when Midge died, and they have not only missed Midge himself, but also having a dog in their lives.

They've put a lot of thought into whether to get a puppy or an adult rescue dog and have decided on a puppy so that they can train it to fit in with their lives. They will take him to work with them - an advantage of being self-employed, and after looking at dozens of breeds chose a Vizsla because he's the right size for them, and they are a gentle-natured breed who love people. Their nickname is Velcro dogs because they stick so close to you!

DS1 and his family adopted a rescue Border Collie in January, so we will now be a 3-dog family when we all get together.

Update on the great name choosing - they are going to see the puppy again next Saturday, so are hoping to choose the name by then.

GD2 came up with another suggestion for the puppy's name yesterday - Ted!

I don't know how a certain person would feel about that.

                            Any more votes?
