From today we have a new member of the family. She is about 2 1/2 years old, a Yellow Lab/German Shepherd/ Goodness knows what else called Eva.
We spotted her and another dog on the Rescue Centre's website when we were taking Clyde's things over there. The adoption process has been quite protracted - a 3 page questionnaire, a reference from our own vet, a home visit, then, on Thursday, finally going to see the dog(s). In fact one had already been rehomed, but we fell in love with Eva. We collected her yesterday so she could spend a day with us, took her back last night, and then this morning we went back to sign all the papers and finally bring her home.
She is already settling in well - tomorrow, I'll post photos etc, but I just wanted to share our happy news. I'm no less sad about either Rusty of Clyde, and to make it worse, yesterday my BIL and SIL had to have their 14 year old dog put to sleep - so it was a bittersweet day. But Eva is a joy - playful, keen to please and already picking up on what's required of her.
