My DD and GD have just gone to the vets to have GD cat put to sleep. He hasn't been well for some time, the vets have tried to cure him but they wondered if it was Leukemia. GD was in tears but wanted to go with her mother, he has been an amazing cat, quite a character, very attached to my GD and the dog. I have his sister living with me as they didn't get on and she only has three legs. I know my GD will be very upset when she comes back,

He was very special to her and the family. Today is her day off anyway, she is doing some chores for her mother and she asked me if I would go with her to town to collect her watch from the shop. I just wish I could take the pain away but that is a part of life. I think she is going riding later that will help. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant - sending lots of love and sympathy. You must all be feeling very sad and I know GD will miss her cat very much. They really do become part of the family, and your dog will miss him too. I hope it's a small consolation to your GD that she took the kindest decision, hard though it is. Big hug. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
