    New cat in the family

DD and GS1 have adopted a cat! A one year old named Jasmine from a shelter. She's tabby and white and looks very lovely from her photos.

They only brought her home this afternoon so we will leave her to settle into her new home before visiting.

Since DD3's poor cat died very suddenly a few weeks ago we have had no cats in the family. We and DD2 said goodbye to the last of our cats due to old age last year.

DD1 is the only one not to be cat person (or pet person at all) so it will be a learning curve for her. We expect a lot of advice being asked

After a couple of days of hiding so efficiently they thought she had somehow escaped, today Jasmine decided it was time to join the family
They will keep her to one room for a couple ,of days more (unless she shows signs of wanting to come out) She has been purring and friendly.

Gem, what a pretty kitty she is. It sounds as though she's settling down and I'm sure there's a little bit of mischief in her eyes. I bet she'll be very playful. There will be no shortage of family members to help out with her if necessary.

I’m not allowed to see the picture but so good to get a puss to love and cuddle.
Gem, will you get another cat soon? You’ve always had one and the house must seem bereft without.

Sum1 I will message you the photo. It's a mystery to us why photos show up on some threads and not others!

DD1, fairly indifferent to cats is already bowled over by this little lady

We go on holiday in September. After that I will be seriously looking.

I can’t see photos either but it sounds as if she’s got her paws under the table already!

Gem, I wish we could work this one out, and I keep looking to find out why, but nothing I've tried works.

She really is a very pretty little cat. . xx

Will you bee looking for a kitten or a rescue cat? I expect the cat rescues, like the dog rescues are overwhelmed with homeless pets. I'd love to adopt another rescue dog, but OH takes some convincing.

I would prefer 2 kittens Daisy, but we shall see. Lots of kittens end up in rescue, either due to being abandoned, or their mother being abandoned whilst pregnant.

I follow 2 local cat rescue centres, and one over near Wakefield.

It's lovely to give a home to one (or more!) pets in need of love and home comforts.

It can be difficult for people with children to adopt a rescue dog - many rescue centres won't rehome to families with children, or to people over a certain age.
