Let down yet again!

Our (reliable) cat sitter was to stay at DD3's house and look after their cat for the week when we all go on holiday . They have no TV and being on her own she would appreciate some telly in the evening. We would have been able to sort something out I'm sure.

Then a couple of weeks ago she had to pull out. Genuine reason and she was very apologetic.
I told DD it was fairly short notice but I would ask our other cat sitters friends, who live in Stratford on Avon. They were happy to do it and could come, but one of them who still works only for 5 days. They have no TV anyways so that solved that problem!

This morning they have pulled out Once again valid reasons and they feel terrible letting DD down to close to going. It will be hard to find cattery space for August now.
OH and I will ask a couple of our friends if they are free and willing. It's not my cat or my responsibility but I feel responsible!

Cats, unless they are house cats, are very resilient and are usually quite okay with a neighbour feeding them, is that possible?

My DDs cats are happpy as long as they are fed and cleaned out each day ,
One is a outdoor cat (naughty Buzz ) the other a indoor cat ,

Shame we don’t live nearer I would have gladly gone daily to see to them and have a hours fuss and cuddle .

Has DD not got a friend who could go ?
Worth ringing around a few Catterys just on the off chance they have a vacancy .

GD2 looks after 2 cats for the neighbours when they are away, all she has to do is feed them and see that they have enough water, I think let them out in the evening and in again in the morning. Is there not a neighbour that can help?

Failing that, you might be able to find a cattery that could have them.

They feel its too long to ask their neighbour (lovely and cat loving but a busy Grandma who still works) They have only lived there a year so don't know many people and live a fair drive from York. Too late for a cattery but they will look into finding a professional who will come in twice a day. That could maybe be be combined with the neighbour.

DD3's local FaceBook community/neighbourhood page may be able to help. People will help willingly with recommendations for good and reliable professional pet sitters. Fingers crossed.
