    What a fright

We have a small Can fridge under the stairs that we keep all B's fizzy drink cans in ,( I don't drink fizzy drinks ) that's why I say B's cans .

    Tonight
we are sitting watching TV when there was a huge bang and sounded like glass shattering in the cupboard ,

B jumped up and opened the door to find the fridge door open and cans all over the floor ,

Turned out a can of Tango had been pushed right to the back of the fridge touching the element and had frozen solid ,
It had expanded to the point it had no where else to go and the side had gave way causing it to explode and what we thought was glass was actually the Tango as ice chunks hitting the glass door and forcing other cans out .

It gave us such a fright ,
We will make sure no Cans tough the back from now on ,

I am surprised it didn't break the door or do more damage the bang was huge , my heart is still racing

Oma - you must have been so scared. Thank goodness neither of you were about to get a drink out and right next to it.

I just kept thinking what if as Daisy said one of us or GS was next to it at the time

B has put a sort of wedge at the back so no cans can touch the element it was the noise the bang was so loud , the fuse box and solar panel box are in there too so we thought it was something like that blowing up .

Oma - it's afterwards when you think of all these awful 'what ifs', isn't it, and you shudder! You'd think the element would have been protected - it sounds very dangerous to leave it exposed, and I'm sure you're not the first people it's happened to.

Daisy its only one of these small can fridges it has a sort of snake like element with a thin cover but it gets very frosted so anything touching it gets frozen ,
Super careful what goes next to it now

It must keep the cans of drink nice and cool though.
