As you know we recently lost our beloved Millie. We are now counting the days until we bring home Bella. Also a Miniature Poodle. Bella is currently 6 weeks old, a delightful Apricot colour. She joins us on 26th November.

I am very excited Gemini, more so probably as I’m in quarantine and so have a lot of time to plan and prepare for her arrival. It’s a long time since I’ve had a puppy but I haven’t forgotten how much hard work they are. In all honesty I am a bit worried about the first few weeks!Grandmothers are just antique little girls - author unknown

We do forget some of the hard work Avo! It's 19 years since I had kittens in the family. I would love nothing more than two kittens, but the time isnt right as we still have our last elderly cat with us. I don't think he would appreciate it. Like you I wouldn't quite know what to expect and would worry a bit if we did.
It will be lovely though, and I bet it will all come back to you. I know the fellow dog owners will be along to reassure you“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Avo - Bella is beautiful! I'm sure you will find the waiting hard, but time will soon pass. There's nothing quite like those first 12 months with a new pup. I'd been wondering whether you would get another furry friend, and I'm so glad you have. Nothing replaces the one you have lost, but a new dog in the family etches out their own place in your heart.
When we got Eva I was very interested in how modern thinking on dog training had progressed over the last 15-20 years from when we had Rusty and Clyde as puppies in 2001. The trainer we take Eva to is wonderful and has lovely kind and fun ways of training. Are you watching the BBC2 programme "Twelve Puppies and Us"? It started last night - there were typical ups and downs with some first-time puppy owners and some with more experience, but it's lovely to be in the puppy-zone!

Gem - she's lovely, but I do wonder if they are going to make a working dog out of her, although she did show some interest in the ducks!!
I've got a soft spot for the Great Dane! He's got such a lovely relationship with the family's Dachshund and has already learned to 'self-handicap' so he doesn't frighten or hurt the smaller dog. I think it's so clever how dogs do that so they can play fight on equal terms.
Avo - Bella is a beauty! Is that her mum behind her? It looks as though she's very interested in the label on the toy! I remember one of my Yorkies doing that - he'd just chew them off!!
