Storm ate Raisins in the summer and had to have his stomach pumped out , luckily DD noticed what he was doing and rushed him straight to the vets ,
GS1's friends had been eating boxes of raisins in the garden and had left them on the patio table and he had jumped up to get them .

Nanaycuddles - many thanks for that list - it's really useful to know, as well as possibly a life saver for a dog. The only thing I'd add is feeding raw bones is great - but not weight bearing bones, like leg bones, as they can splinter.

Nanto - I've read about tea tree oil fumes making dogs very ill as well. I can add eating pot pourri to that. Our Yorkie Rusty ate some when he was a puppy and we nearly lost him.

Mimi - your cat is clearly an exceptional cat. He can read your mind and know how to time it so he can re-cover the tree skirt in fur just when you've cleaned it all off. So it's not surprising he'd eat the artificial Christmas tree.

Oma - I remember Storm having that emergency trip to the vets, but I bet it hasn't changed him.

We had a few scary moments with Rusty - he ate all sorts of things (pica) and you never knew what he was going to present to you all wrapped up in a neat brown parcel!!!

It's one way in which Eva is very good, and she doesn't beg, but we were at DS1's today and their border collie, Bailey sat with his nose about an inch from the large Scotch egg GS2 was snacking on. Fortunately GS noticed his snack was in mortal danger and moved the plate!
