    Two vet visits!

Our 19 year old female cat is still going on. Every so often the vet gives her an antibiotic shot. She has problems with teeth but they wont remove any as her weak heart won't take the anaesthetic. We knew she was due,so had an appointment for this afternoon at 5.10.
Last week OH made an appointment for our male cat. He's been dragging his bottom on the carpet, worming him made no difference so we took him to have his anal glands checked. His claws have got long and were catching on carpet and furniture, so we wanted them trimming at the same time.
His appointment was for 4.40 today.
Once it was time to get him into the cat box, our normally docile boy went beserk! We couldn't get him in and I sustained 2 bleeding scratches!
We then grabbed (sleeping) female cat, took her to the vet in her brothers place, and explained. We warned them that we may not be able to return with the other cat for his appointment but would try.
OH then asked if they had a bigger carrier we could borrow, as he is a big boy. They did. Home with girl cat. Cat out of basket, cat blanket moved from one basket to the other. Cat caught and forced in. Phew!!
His anal glands have been sorted and claws cut. He was very good boy and scratched no one this time

Sorry but I had to laugh at the image I could imagine him with all legs stretched out not allowing you to push him into the carry box

Have you bathed your scratches they can be very sore ,

One of DD's cats used to poo all over cat box on way to vets she always had to be cleaned up before vet could see her . yuk

Gem - I had to laugh too. It's amazing how wriggly a cat can get when he sees the dreaded cat basket being dusted off. I'm glad they were both ok though. It could have been worse, and boy kitty could have been more angry.

Daisy that is so funny. They can be little fighters when the mood strikes.🤣

We have to close all the doors and cat flap before we get the cat carrier out or Oliver disappears to one of our neighbours and hides out he is a nightmare.
We are off to Vets today as Poppy the little Lhasa is very unwell she is not eating well at all and we are worried she may not have too long with us,we are unsure how old she is we have had her 8yrs now and she was 2/3 when we rescued her so she could be 11/12 and it just be old age poor wee thing is so out of sorts.

My GD's cat is a very feisty cat. If he doesn't want you to touch him, he will lash out, we have to warn visitors. He is probably a coward when going to the vets.

The Simon's Cat episode about going to vet is spot on. So funny when it is fighting to not get in, then doesn't want to come out at the vets, then gets in like a lamb to go home

Glamm - poor little Poppy. I hope it's nothing serious. It's hard to believe you've had her 8 years, and I know only too well you can't help worrying about them. xx

Thanks for the concern about Pops, she has bucked up the past couple of days,I think she caught a chill when she went to the groomers and with the weather going so cold all of a sudden she was unwell, she is going outside now for the toilet and drinking well. I must remember how old she is even though she looks a young puppy she is in fact an old lady at nearly 12.

Glamm, that's good news about Poppy - thanks for letting us know. I think small dogs in particular seem to live longer these days - you hear of lots of doggies still happy and well at 14, 15 and even beyond.

I found my Yorkies felt the cold more as they got older.
