Dad rang this afternoon, saying there was a mouse in a cupboard in the bedroom. So off we go armed with mousetrap. When we got there Dad said it has nibbled through a bag.Hubby goes up to investigate, and what does he find, mouse droppings NO. The bag was so old, when hubby picked it up, it just disintegrated in his hands.Anyway, while cupboard was empty, I cleaned it and we got rid of some rubbish, so one clean and tidy cupboard.

When I was looking after dad, who by then had lost most of his sight and his mobility was limited due to a stroke, I found a mouse that appeared to be dead on the floor in his kitchen.
Armed with dads long handled grab tool , rubber gloves and black bin liner, I crept up on it and through gritted teeth and squinted eyes I proceeded to be very brave and pick it up .
It turned out to be , not a mouse as I thought but a weetabix dad had dropped on the floor that morning !Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I'm so glad it wasn't a mouse, because earlier that morning, I had changed the bedding in that room, then polished and hoovered. It's a cupboard that I don't go in,knowing Dad has some personal stuff in there.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Ewwww Qwerty!
When at uni DD1 and her friend befriended a very elderly elderly lady and regularly visited her, to keep her company. She often made them dubious sandwiches and teas from not very clean cups (due to her eyesight) They avoided everything as much as they could without hurting her feelings“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

When we were at Time to Shine my husband went swimming with the children. The teams have two swim sessions each over two days and we need adults in there. It is more of a sort of jump in, splash, drown affair than swimming! Husband's eye sight is very poor and obviously he cannot wear his glasses in the pool. On the fish n chip and fizz night which is when all the residential volunteers stand down prior to the disco, people were telling tales of things that had happened over the four days. Husband said that he didn't catch an orange ball one of the kids threw so he went to retrieve it and grabbed it only to find it was a child's head with an orange swim hat on! Now that is a Spec Savers advert! If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Zizi, LOL is one of my least liked phrase shortenings, but in this case I really did laugh out loud. Did you ever see the vid where a bloke is on the beach & kicks someone's head mistaking it for a beach ball? Sounds horrific but it's one of those things that's funny. Unless you're the person on the receiving end. Oh dear, now you're all going to think I'm a sadist. I'm not honestly. 😱 I just have a funny sense of humour."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."
