    My Cat.

She is very old (21) and very spoilt. She is also VERY fussy regarding her food. We are going through a non eating phase at present, but she will drink cat milk by the gallon. I have tried every food I can think of, fresh and packet, and you’d think I was offering last years leavings!
    My DD2 sent me this....

Will she eat chicken or fish Grauntie?
Our older cats love those. We buy cooked chicken pieces (about £2 a pack) to supplement cat food pouches and sometimes OH cooks fish for them.
Cats are notorious for going off, and back on to foods aren't they? Older cats are much more fussy anyway.
At the age of your cat and ours, their kidneys won't be in good shape I imagine hence they drink more. Our girls (the boy is a bit younger) drink a lot of water and love the cat milk when we get it for them.

    Very good graphic btw

Grauntie - that says it all! Still, she's an old lady and deserves pampering.

I've noticed on the raw feeding Face Book group I belong to there are more and more cat owners joining.

Grauntie I love the photo, I'm sure every cat owner can relate to it
Our cat (13, just a young slip of a girl compared to your senior lady ) but she is an extremely fussy eater. She won't eat fish at all, just Whiskers dried food for cats over 7 and fresh chicken ( breast meat only, none of the dark leg meat for her highness )
Does your vet offer a free check up clinic for older cats, if so maybe they could have a look at her. We are taking our cat to her 6 month OAP check up next week . I want to mention that she spends most of the night being very agitated, very noisy and restless. Its like having a new born baby here at the moment. We are in and out of bed to her throughout the night.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

That says it all with cats doesn't it
My DD's cat who has a heart condition sometimes goes off his food but will run miles for Dreamies , hes like the cat on the advert for them he would burst through walls
He also loves Cream so wont turn his nose up to that although its not good for him , Vet said he hasn't got a long life anyway so may as well enjoy it while he has ,

I suppose at 21 yours has a right to be fussy
Im not fat just 6ft too small

All our cats have loved yogurt and are on your lap if you open one.

Grauntie, have you tried these for puss? They come in salmon and chicken flavours, 5 in a box. £1.00 at supermarkets but I have got them from Wilko and Home Bargains for less.
I first saw them when feeding our neighbours cat and decided to try them on ours. They love them. Sometimes we just give one as a treat and sometimes we top their food with it. I took a sachet to the vets when they were shaving our cat, and they said she was just licking it straight from the tube!
if you haven't tried them worth a look I would say.

We had a cat for 18½ years. She did get fussy with food as she got older.
As she was getting older,we did buy her quite a few cat treats which she always enjoyed.

Gem - I'm not going to let Eva see that link - she'll start mewing and pretending she's a cat so she can have some!!!

Thank you all for the ideas. I have tried most of them but not raw meat. She used to like the yoghurt tubes but then went off them. 🙄 I will give them another chance though. Tonight I gave her some fancy stuff in a little can which I then chucked away as she was disgusted. I gave her ordinary Felix next and she has eaten most of a packet! I will try some raw beef on top of the next offering.
She is more fussy than the GC!
Now having a love-in on my lap. 😻

Grauntie - I'm sorry if I'm teaching you how to suck the proverbial eggs! If you feed your dear old lady on raw meat you should freeze it for at least a week (some say 2 weeks) before defrosting and feeding it. This is to kill any invisible parasites there might be on the meat. Cooking also kills them, which is why we can eat fresh meat without any problem.

It's the same with fish as well, Grauntie.

Well, it’s worth a try. She is shouting at me, complaining about the breakfast now (Felix in jelly)!
