    New Addition

Last Saturday we welcomed Dolly to our household she is a 4mth old Lemon & White Basset Hound as you all know we always had Bassets before we lost our last one Bonnie a year before we moved abroad.
She has come from a nice home and we met mum & dad before we made the final decision her mummy had 8 babies all the homes had been vetted and all are now settled in their forever homes.
We have had a shock as to how well she has become trained using a puppy pad and when she has her final injection on 6th November she can go into the garden with Poppy,Pops has been smothering her with kindness she is such a good surragate mum.
I can't add pics as the sizes are too big and I keep getting the message to resize but am clueless as to how to do it,I am still waiting for help from DGS.

Glamm - she sounds adorable, and what a lovely surrogate mum you've got with Poppy. They are such gorgeous dogs and I've got a special soft spot for them as they're a bit like bloodhounds on short legs, and I loved the bloodhound I had as a child.

I'm sure Dolly will be a great addition to the family.

Well the first week has gone very well and not as stressful as I had imagined to be honest,Dolly is using the puppy training pads and managing to hit the target 75% of the time so not too bad at all.
My GGD has been to meet her and she was so gentle with Dolly they became best friends by the time she went home.
On Tuesday the 6th of next month she can go out for walks with Pops and OH she can only go for 15min walks at first until she is 6mths x twice a day but she will be tired out no doubt when she gets home and ready for a sleep.

Glam, it’s always a balancing act isn’t it, they need the exercise, but too much is bad for them. Dolly is doing well with her training. 👍

Lovely to hear about your new puppy, Dolly. She's sounds a similar age to our Fred. He was born in early August. He has his last injections this Wednesday, but it's another week before we can hit the streets.
It sounds like things are going well, good luck with it all.

We are still doing well with the toilet training, she is following Poppy to the garden and doing her business after she has been fed so all looking good no accidents in the house she is using the puppy training mat all the time.
Poppy is smothering her with love and Oliver has taken to creeping into her basket and sleeping with her.

Glam - that is so sweet. I was wondering how Oliver would take to Dolly, but at least he was already used to dogs with having Poppy.

What a clever little puppy she is, but I always think a puppy learns quickly from a grown up dog.

Jules, Fred sounds adorable, and I bet you can't wait to start taking him out.
