This is slightly related to Oma's thread "Celebrations" about being happy about good news.
Last week we had DS2's enormous puppy for a couple of days while they were away. He's 11 months old now, and still has a bit of growing to do, but is gradually gaining control of his legs so they all go in the same direction at once! He's boisterous and has loads of energy, and he and Eva played almost constantly.
But what struck me was what a happy dog he is. To him the whole world is wonderful and there for the enjoyment of it. It made me happy just to be in the same room as him. I commented on this to OH and we both noticed that neither Eva nor our DS1's dog, Bailey have that gift of total happiness. They are both rescue dogs and inevitably there have been traumas in their lives that we'll never know about, and although they are loving and playful, there is always that slight look in their eyes that says "This is good, but will it last?"
I hope Cooper is always the way he is right now.
