    Storm on the run

Well it was an eventful evening , Storm escaped and did a runner ,
DD &SIL were in next door and GS1 was in the house with his friends when one of them went out and didn't close the door fully ,
Storm can pull the handle down if its not fully closed and Husky's are notorious for escaping '

Well everyone was in a panic , GS1 and his friends went one way DD another SIL another , we went over and drove around ,
Finally GS1 found him about a mile away and managed to get hold of him but he didn't have a collar on and they had no lead , so GS1 got him to the ground and lay on him then phoned SIL to go for him ,

In the mean time they managed to get him into someone's garden to keep him safe till SIL arrived .The lady was very understanding thankfully and waited with them and gave Storm water as he was panting and hot with running .

Huskys have no recall and once out will keep running , luckily he had run around his daily walking route and that's where GS1 and his friends looked
He just hopped into the car like nothing was wrong the naughty dog , gave us all a fright we were scarred stiff he would run on the road .

      Oh my goodness!!!

I suppose it is natural in his breed to run, just as terriers have the instinct to attack little things and cats to catch birds. I didn't realise a dog who was a happy pet would do that though!'
Everyone must have been so relieved when he was found safe. Naughty dog!

Gem any opportunity they will escape they are called the Houdini of the dog world , that's why unless its a secure fenced in area they cant be let of the lead
He thinks its a game if you chase him so you have to sit on the ground and he will come back to investigate
that's just like him the wagging tail and silly grin hahaha

Oh dear.Your heart’s in your mouth when something like that happens. Thank goodness he was found safe and sound. Love the image of GS lying on him to hold him down, though I know it wasn’t funny at the time.

Oma - an escaped dog and busy roads are my worst nightmare (I lost 2 dogs to road accidents when I was a child through people leaving the gate open), so I can imagine how you all felt. Thank goodness he was found safe and sound, and GS1 had the presence of mind to flatten him until help arrived.

Some dogs are just eternal escape artists! Of our two Yorkies, who were brothers, one was really good the other would take every opportunity to escape, and being so small meant that happened too often for comfort!

I'm quite sure Storm won't have learned anything from his experience, though!

You can't do much about stupid, Oma. But the lovable bit is the important thing, as well as being a beautiful dog.
