Thank you ladies for GD1's birthday wishes.
She has had a lovely day - her first ride on a train and a bus, getting up close and personal with penguins, tigers, snow leopard, giraffes and many other animals at Marwell Zoo and a mountain of presents. Best of all now though is that when she's asked how old she is she can say "Six"!
On Saturday her mum and dad are taking her and a friend to lunch and the cinema. My job will be dog care and probably having to convince GD2 that an afternoon with Grandma is better than the birthday treat her sister's having!

Sounds as if your GD is having a lovely birthday Daisy
It is my youngest GD's 21st today, she is in Canada with her parents having a holiday before she starts a year in a University there. Will phone her later, they are five hours behind so will have to leave it until the afternoon. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Spoken to GD, sounds very happy, said the campus is much better than UCL. Parents are back Monday, I am sure she will soon make friends. They are going on a Duck Tour today then out for dinner and onto a Jazz Club, sounds like a good birthday celebration. Hope to talk to her on Face Time, she will be back for a few days at Christmas. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

My mum is 88 today!
We had a family celebration for her here yesterday, with Sunday roast, and later on tea and birthday cake. Today I am taking her out for afternoon tea.
At the table yesterday mum was saying that she has lived longer than either of her parents or her 5 siblings. She smokes, is a very 'angry ' sort of person, and if she has 5 A Week it's amazing, never mind 5 a day!! Maybe we have an alotted lifespan, no matter what we do?!
She had a lovely day yesterday, and should have a nice afternoon today.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
