Thank you! Not the best of days - DS has Covid, OH is -ive this morning but snotty and weary and sore throat and our wifi is beyond awful. Endless problem is comes on and then goes. Virgin say it’s fixed but it seems to be our postcode. We’re going to Whitstable for three days and fingers crossed that we can x

Happy birthday Sum1. Sounds like you may have to have an ‘unbirthday’ when all are back to good health!

Sum1, I've only just seen your post about your birthday woes. I do hope you are both ok for your trip to Whitstable and you can make up for the lack of celebrations on your birthday.

Thank you everyone. We did get to Whitstable and had a lovely time despite getting drenched on the way to The Sportsman on Thursday. Got slightly lost on the way back to DDs and that added to the milage…. On Friday DD wanted to walk the Crab and Winkle Way to Canterbury so that was another eight miles and on Saturday we walked the Viking Way from Margate to Ramsgate so that was another nine +. In total we walked over thirty one miles. On Sunday we put our feet up!

That was my birthday treat and I got a new zester/canelle gadget and a new grater (I had asked for these). DD and DiL are taking me to Liberty’s for afternoon tea next month which will be lovely. They have said the men can find other things to do.

DS is recovering and now DiL has covid for the second time - just ready for half term.

Sum1, what lovely and varied birthday birthday treats you've had, and afternoon tea to look forward to. You certainly got plenty of fresh air for your birthday, but I hope you still had the energy to blow out your candles.

Were those all circular routes or did you have to retrace your steps? I hope your DIL recovers quickly. It's bad timing with being half-term.

There and a diverted route back on Thursday. There and bus back on Friday and there and bus back on Saturday. We couldn’t have done both ways at our advanced age!
