    Hen Do

    DD3 and SIl, after 12 years together were to have a Civil Partnership (which I will refer to as wedding as it's easier!) on June 6th this year. A small ceremony and meal with their two witnesses on the day, then a larger family and friends celebration on the Saturday, which we were all looking forward to.
    Covid put paid to all that, but they did celebrate themselves on the day it was meant to happen, and have worn their rings since then.

    The bigger celebration is still on ice until hopefully next year. The wedding however is next week. Just them and the witnesses.
    Tonight friends have organised a stag night in for SIl, keeping to the rule of 6.
    We are having one for DD, once again 6 of us. DD doesn't know about this, she thinks she is going to her friends house for the evening while her OH is at his do.

    We will be me, my 3 DDs , their MIL and her DS's OH (the one who cuts the kids hair) She is hosting and has put a lot of effort in. We have a Mexican theme , food is ordered in and hopefully DD will love it. It's a shame my OH can't be included, but they are obeying the rules, and its not my party so I can't bend them (which I would)
    OH has graciously agreed to drive me there and collect me, which is kind as she isn't coming.

    So, a rare night out

    That will be a good surprise for your DD3 Gem. As you say, a rare night out. Few and far between at the moment.

      Hope it all goes well Gem! That's lovely of S to do the driving even though she's not going. I'm sure you could take her a party bag....unless you eat and drink everything!!! Enjoy yourselves x

        Gem - I'm sure it will be great fun, and yes, I would bend the rules, but how lovely to be taxi'd there and back by S - she's a star.

        I hope your DD3 has the surprise of her life, and the 'boys' have a good evening as well.

          One of OH's golf friends, who is widowed and lives alone had a birthday yesterday. As her family live away we are pretty sure she wouldn't have done anything . So OH has invited her round tonight and is cooking sweet and sour chicken, which she cooks very well.
          It will be a nice evening for them both, and I'm glad she has something nice to do

            Hope the hen do goes well Gem.
            Lovely of S to take you there and back.
            Will also be nice for S to have some company while you are out.

            Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
