Posting in the Chatbox, and elsewhere!

Our Chatbox is very very busy, which is wonderful!
I think we all love to check in there wherever we visit the forum, read the latest posts and maybe add our own. It's a great way for us all to keep in touch quickly, along with the Tea Rooms, Granny's Rest and Pamper zone

We don't want anyone to post less in the Chatbox, but Daisy and I have been talking about it and we feel that perhaps some of the discussions on there could be moved to other sections.

The reason for this is that anything discussed there, including replies, gets lost easily, as the thread is so well used. People often miss things which were mentioned a day or two earlier.
So, if you want to talk at length about anything (and we love you to!) it is a good idea to start a new thread somewhere else, about that topic. It is much easier to find again that way. This and That is useful if you don't know where else to put it. Admin will move it if there is a better place.
Also, Journals are a good place to tell us about your life, and have the advantage of having the same privacy level as YEO.
So, the message is, it's great that Chatbox is so popular, but so we don't miss anything, consider making a new thread if you have something specific to discuss.
    Thank You!

Thanks Gem, good idea. It’s easy to get carried away on Chatbox but will try and remember πŸ‘πŸΌ

It is easy to get carried away Enfys, we all do it!
You started a thread about your crochet project, that is exactly the sort of thing I mean. Now it's easy too find and lots of people are interested

I agree with you Gem, quite a few things do get missed in chatbox.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I sometimes find on Wednesday morning when I've probably not had more than a few snatched minutes on my busy Tuesdays, that I've missed really interesting/ important comments in my effort to catch up with everybody.

All your posts are precious and treasured (they really are!) and if you can put an ongoing topic in to another area, it would be great and make sure that we all had a chance to join in. Enfys' Crocheting (or chrotcheting as I called it!) thread is a perfect example. Yes, yes, yes, Enfys you CAN have a gold star!

As Gem says if you don't know where to put something, This and That is fine, and either Admin or one of our very lovely Mods will move it. And sometimes, This and That is the perfect place to be!

Just one more thought (before I decide it's wine o'clock on a Saturday) if you find yourself thinking "Why isn't there a place for <whatever>" do please tell me or Gem. We're always open to suggestions and ideas.

Bumping this up, as this is something Daisy and I have been discussing again.

We love a busy Chatbox, but if you have something to tell us which takes more than a line or two please consider making a separate thread about it.
Easier to find, look back on and comment on
As ever, any posts can go into This and That, and Admin can move it to the right spot if necessary.

Let's face it - we're just plain nosey and don't want to miss anything!

Seriously, we do love Chat being busy, but I think some of us (like me!) do find it difficult to keep track. "This and That" is a useful place to go if there doesn't seem anywhere more appropriate for your post, and please remember we're always willing to start new sub-forums if you see a gap in what's on offer.
