Help for when you want to put up your Avatar.

Go to your profile. Scroll over the grey man and it should say Edit Avatar bottom right. Click on that, then you can browse photos on your PC. (copied from Gemini's post)

Have tried both pics on hard drive and avatars from glitter graphics on both iPad and desktop but nothing works here. I tried to add a graphic from glitter graphics to a post as per instructions, on desktop, but to no avail. All I get is a message telling me it's an invalid file.

I'll talk to the other two this evening about this, as far as I can tell all your settings are fine Grauntie, but there must be a reason so we will find it. One method is, if you have time, try the procedure 3-4 times as I found that to be helpful once or twice in the early days.

I added an avatar, but I couldn't 'pull' the corner of the box with broken lines in the top left hand corner. I did use the corner section however & was happy enough with that.

Was unable to add mine on the ipad,i was unable select a part of the picture i wanted to use. But no problems on laptop. My Avatar is the reason for my name, youngest Grandson draw the picture of me and he told me i had lots of arms because we have lots of cuddles. Bless him.

Look, look it's happened!!! Oh happy me. I had to download chosen avatar into my pics and post it from there. Will persevere with Glitter Graphics tomorrow. I can go to bed now.

Admin...as you can see I tried changing my Avatar without any success. I still can't pull the top left hand box area to encompass the whole of the image I want to use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nana - I've had a quick look in your profile and can't see any settings that might cause a problem. It may be that the image you're using is too large, or there is some problem with transferring it (eg is it locked?) If you could try the same procedure with a different image that would eliminate some possibilities. I'll get back on here later, but will be out most of the day. Good luck - we will get you Avatar-ed!
