It's a Goodbye and a Hello !

Hello Everyone



I've got some news I'd like to share with you all!



I am so sorry I've not been on here very much lately. I do try to read the posts quickly every day or so, but I've had rather a lot to sort out and time has been a bit of an issue.



Which leads me into sharing the news that I will be standing down as ADMIN at the end of this month.



I shall never leave and will simply take my place alongside you all as a Platinum member and continue to enjoy and take advantage of the friendships I have made over the last few years.



Since moving last November a great deal has changed and mostly for the best as we are having a great time creating a garden out of what was scrub land and decorating the house, plus the installation of a sunroom and it has been exciting and rewarding.



I have had a couple of health problems which hopefully are on the way to being sorted out. It's linked to arthritis and has slowed me down which I absolutely hate! My OH had a bit of a scare with one of his regular tests for the maintenance of his prostate cancer, but that is now resolved too, thank goodness! Hear's to a healthier 2nd half of the Year!



Added to which since last year my overall income has reduced quite sizeably as thanks to a certain government (the last one, not under the present regime). I had to "draw in my horns" and make viable decisions about what was and was not essential for sensible outlay in the years to come and one of my decisions has been to step down from Admin at GRU as a small part of honing my finances.



There's nothing Daisy and Gemini cannot do now to keep the forums running smoothly. So you have always been in their excellent hands and nothing will change. If work needs doing on a shared basis, then an Admin status can be given to me for however long it takes and I can easily revert back to my Platinum membership when the problems have been dealt with.



So that's it then. Nothing will change except my status on here, and, as an afterthought, we are waiting to hear if my niece (and possibly nephew) from Melbourne are coming over this year. If so they will stay for a week with us, and it will be in September but since they haven't firmed up any dates as yet, I may well be able to join the September MeetUp. After so many years, this would be a special weekend indeed for me. Fingers crossed!

Elisi we are not loosing you sweetie just a little side step as mentioned you must think of yourself first and your family, and it is so good to hear the little bumps in the road regarding your/ohs health has been sorted for you both,it sounds as if it is all go in your house and your garden so enjoy what you do during the next months. xxx

We shall be sorry to lose you as Admin Elisi, but very glad that you will still be a member, and crossing fingers that we may meet you for real in September

I appreciate you staying a little longer than you intended to see me over my treatments, and also your offer to step in and help 'in the backroom' if needed in future.
Daisy and I have the support of 3 fantastic moderators, so I'm confident that we will be fine, but it's good to know the offer is there.

I'm sure you won't need me Gem. I think once someone has left a position there is a time to ring the bells of change and move forwards. The Mods are brilliant and more than capable as are you and Daisy. So, I'm here if you ever need me and Onwards and Upwards 🙋
