What do you like best, least, is there anything else you would like to see?

After a year of running the forum, it would be interesting for us to have some feedback about content from members.
We are always getting lovely feedback from our members, and we know you seem to like the forum, now you have adjusted to it, and are glad to have it.

The question here is to find out what parts of the forum you really like, and visit often.
Are there sections which do not interest you at all? Could these be improved?

We have the all purpose Relaxing and Chatting section. That is where any topic which doesn't seem to fit anywhere else is posted. It is a very busy section! Sometimes we move posts from there to another section, for example Gardening, or Recipes, if we think it belongs there.

We have recently added Story Corner and Poetry Corner, and a Games section. All these seem popular. We also added a section for Members loved ones birthdays. Prior to that they were being posted all over the forum, or on the Members Birthdays thread. Now they should be easier to find!
Are there topics not covered in any section, which you would like to see covered here?

Please tell us if there are things you would like to see on GransRus, and we will do our best!

I will have to think about this as I think it's pretty perfect as it is , maybe that's because I for one am used to the format now . I'm sure someone will think of a little tweak hear and there but at the moment I can't think of any 😊

I love things as they are, but I'm sure other members may have some ideas. We have such a varied assortment of forums and sub forums, I think almost every subject is covered.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I can't think of anything at the moment. Once you get used to finding your way around it's pretty easy but I will be interested to hear if anyone else has any ideas.

I've been having a think about this & the only way to reply is to compare it with another site. That one is well established & not knowing how these sites work I don't know if the addition of things are down to the cost of the site owners, as it were. The other site has competitions with prizes, sometimes a chance to discuss a book with it's author etc. I don't know who pays for it, so wouldn't expect GRU to be able to do these things without personal cost. What is not on GRU isn't a problem as I'm more concerned with the excellent things we have got...namely a safe place to talk with such lovely friends and the loyalty of the admin who give us this fantastic opportunity.

I think it's pretty much perfect on here, but then it would be wouldn't it. We have such a lovely, friendly bunch of friends on here.

Nana, good comments. Thanks to you and everyone for the kind comments!
As you rightly guess a bigger site pays for these things, by money being brought in by advertisers. We had hoped, and still hope to have small amount of advertising which would help pay the running costs of the forum (Atm met by admin and the kind donations we had when we began)
It would be nice to do some of those things, and maybe we will do in future

The only niggle I have at the minute is viewing on my Kindle Fire , the print is small and I can't get it bigger . On every other site I can stretch my fingers and the page expands , I have enlarged the print in the settings and my books have huge print but no change here , so I put it back to where it was

Aggie - thank you for your comment. It's only by people telling us what the Forum looks like to them that we can try and improve it.

Having said that, I haven't got an immediate answer. I suspect that the actual format of the software we use isn't optimised for some handheld devices. I know there are slight variations in how the Forum handles on tablets, iPads and iPhones. I imagine it's the same sort of thing for your Kindle Fire. I'll try and find out, because I can see it must be frustrating for you.

I've manually increased the size of the text for this sentence. Could you let me know if this shows up larger on your Kindle, please?

I'm afraid I don't know, Aggie, and I've never used Kindle Fire.

Are there any other members who use Kindle Fire - if so, can you enlarge the text on yours? Aggie and I would be very grateful if anyone can show us what to do.
