Just a word about deleting.
Deleting posts, and in particular deleting threads, should really be a last resort.
It is far better to Think Before You Post, rather than post then delete. Posts of a sensitive nature can go in the area specifically for that, and are secure.
When you delete your thread, you also delete all posts in response to your original post. Members have read the post, thought about it, and taken to time to respond. Next time they go on, Poof, the whole thread, including their responses is gone!
We are not saying you can never delete. We are saying please, think before posting rather than deleting. A thread eventually slips down the list and goes unnoticed after a time anyway, if there are no new posts. Better to let it do that than delete it.
There are occasionally valid reasons for deleting, I know. There have been a couple of recent thread deletions for good reasons. One of the members deleting talked to us about it, and we totally agreed that is was the right thing to do.
The main reason for bringing this up now, is the new members who may soon join us. We don't want them to be put off by replying to posts, which then disappear.
Thank you everyone.
