    Where we post.

Firstly, we want to say big thank you to all our lovely members, and to our 4 moderators, for the sterling work they do. Nanto2girls joined the mod team as an extra pair of hands when we 3 admin were on holiday, and she has turned out to be a star
Every member here is important, whether you post 30 times a day, or once a fortnight. We love your posts, deep or trivial!

We are so happy with the volume of topics started and topics replied to. This is all wonderful, and its what keeps a forum alive. Very soon now we shall hopefully be having new members, and that will inject new life and more posts.

Despite all this positivity, there is just one thing we would like to mention

This is GrannySupport, the Facebook group which many of our established members belong to. This was set up before GRU was. At the time it was a lifeline for us all to keep in touch, and is still an important tool for us all.
We admin have all noticed however, that many very interesting topics have been started on this FB group, rather than brought here to the forum. When we have mentioned this the posters have always willingly reposted on GRU, so we feel that it isn't a conscious choice to post on FB rather than here, but just that GRU wasn't really the first thought.

We can't and wouldn't want to tell you where to post! However, this is just a little plea to post your interesting stuff here. There are several members here who are not on FB, so therefore miss out on all those posts. I can only think of one GS member who isn't a member here, so here your post is seen by almost everyone You can still post in GS too if you want!

Lots of time, effort and some money goes into keeping this forum going. We want to keep it the happy lively place it is, so keep posting!

I have noticed that some things on GS on facebook could have been posted here.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Point taken. However, the only things I put on GS are family photos. That's because I don't have permission to put them on a public forum. As with all grannies, I must comply with my GCs parents' wishes.

Minny, I have permission to post the childrens photos on FB and would be allowed to here, but I prefer to post them on FB anyway. It is the interesting topics getting lost on there we are talking about,

I put everything on GRU as I am the most anti-Facebook person you could wish to meet its far too complicated for me I joined quite a long time ago but that is as far as I got,I just don't understand it (am I stupid or what) ??

Not stupid at all Glamma! I was a member of FB for a year or 2 before getting into posting. Like you, I couldn't understand it. Now I'm addicted, mind you
You are not the only member here who isnt on FB, which is why it is a pity if topics go there and not here, some of our members miss out.

I'm also a bit wary of FB, Glamm, and hardly ever put up photos, except on the photography groups I belong to, and never of the children. I've noticed that FB seems to be able to change its terms and conditions on a whim, and the final straw was one friend of mine was told her name wasn't a 'proper' name and she had to change it! 😳

I do have a FB account but like Glam, I find it confusing. I had no idea about the GrannySupport thing anyway! 😯

Grauntie, the GrannySupport group on Facebook was started by one of our members last year, when things were very difficult on GN, and that forum was hacked. No one felt safe, and the FB group was a good temporary solution. Then, this forum was born. GS is still there, and our original post on this thread refers to topics which go there instead of here.

Anyone here is welcome to join GS, you just have to ask one of us to invite you, as it is a closed hidden group. I think everyone here who uses FB regularly has joined.

It would make life simpler if we could just come here instead of both places. I recall you asking for this before Gemini. I joined FB just so that I could keep in touch with you all when GN was hacked. I read something on someone's FB site (not a Granny) this morning & wish I hadn't. It's left me enraged & upset. I despair at how some people use FB.

I don't post that much on Facebook, I do try and keep all the complete and utter nonsense that comes into my so called brain posted on here as you can tell if you look back at the ramblings of silly old me. !

I do use Facebook a lot to keep in touch with friends and family in OZ, Canada and so on. I can use the chat facility there which I often do and it's lovely to talk to people thousands of miles away whom I miss so much, but I am cautious as to what sort of photos I put of of my family. I did join Instagram and got hounded by people wanted sex but found out how to change things there so they can't get to me now and at least FB doesn't do this to me !!!
