Our GRU Autumn Spring Clean for 2021

As we mentioned in yesterday's News Letter, we are making a few changes to GransRus. The aim is to streamline and simplify things so it's easier to find the forum or sub-forum you want.

Chat Box has served us well for 6 years, but so often really interesting posts get lost in there because it's so busy, so we will be putting the lid on our Chat Box memories tonight, and tying it up with a red ribbon. From tomorrow (Wednesday, 1st September) we will have a
    DAILY DROP IN

for the everyday friendly chat we enjoy - the weather, what we're doing that day, in fact all the daily comings and goings we usually share with each other.

For the non-routine/daily things please start a new thread. If you don't know where to start it, for now use THIS AND THAT. Or if you're unsure what to do, please put it in Daily Drop In and we'll move it for you. (adding "Make New Thread" would help us spot this).

    Other changes so far:

There's a new Forum called simply TODAY. In it you will find your old friends TODAY IN HISTORY and THOUGHT FOR THE DAY (renamed TODAY'S THOUGHT) and a new thread TODAY'S NEWS. Admin usually add to these posts every day, but please, please add your own contributions or comments as well. Everyone's contributions are welcome.

Please bear with us while we move things around - we'll keep you posted on what we're doing.

Thank you all so much for your support for GRU. You are the reason it's a friendly, happy and caring place to visit.

Birthdays, Anniversaries and Celebrations have all cuddled up together to make it easy to share happy times.

and more changes are on the way.

We also have a new section - BOUQUETS AND BRICKBATS.

This is the old Gripes and Grouches and Praise Where Praise is Due sections, combined into one.
So, praise or grouch on there!

Here we are, still beavering away in the Granny attic.

The latest move is the Theatre, Cinema, TV and Music sub-forum which was under INTERESTS AND HOBBIES has now joined BOOKS in a re-named forum called BOOKS, THEATRE, CINEAM, TV and MUSIC. We'll find a slicker name for this rather long list when our creative muse is working!

Also on the move is Recipes (or should that be 'are'!) They are now sitting with Food and Nutrition which is now called FOOD, RECIPES, COOKING, NUTRITION and EATING OUT - still under INTERESTS AND HOBBIES at the moment.
