Why we have the 'fluffy' topics

Anyone is free to discuss anything on this forum. If you read the T&C's and you will see that it needs to be legal, non offensive to others, no advertising, and a few other things. All common sense. Apart from that, anything goes.

We have discussed controversial topics on the forum, and everyone has behaved well and respected each other's opinions, and in some cases agreed to differ.
We welcome all types of lively discussion

Our forum has a fair amount of what some may call 'fluffy' content. I am here to stand up for the Fluffy!

Some days we, admin, notice most posts are on these sections, and wish there were more posts in other areas.
However, thinking about it I feel that the sections such as Chatbox, Granny's Arms, Tea Rooms and Pamper Zone and all the games fulfill a real purpose.
Some don't enjoy the games, some are not keen on Chat (although I would say that is a vital part of keeping in touch) Some never visit the tea Rooms. They are there for those who enjoy them.
Sometimes to come here and be silly in the Tea Rooms, while away some time on games, or just say hello on Chat, takes our mind off the real world.

The general age of our members means that almost everyone has worries of some sort about themselves and/or OH's, not to mention parents, in-laws, offspring and grandchildren! Life can be lacking in lighthearted fun at times.

So, I feel we need the Fluffy!

I tend to head straight to the chat forum and I did visit, the tea room this morning, the first time in a long time

I suppose if the dreaded word ‘berxit’ was said there would be many opinions for and against and I’m sure we would respect each other’s opinions.

I start off at the top of new posts and pass on some until I have more time, usually come back to them later in the day. I enjoy some of the games and do visit the tea room occasionally.

I go to my messages first then the recent posts. I really do need to get back to my journal. I'm afraid it would make dismal reading tho.

I like ‘fluffy’. Other forums can be too depressing for words!

One of the things I love about our group of grannies is that Admin (Gem and me) are united in our thoughts and both want GRU to be a place we can all come to to express an opinion on anything without fear of being harassed or insulted, even though not everyone agrees with you, to chat about the comings and goings of our day, play silly games, let off steam, share things we can't share any where else, get some virtual hugs when things are hard, talk about our grandchildren and celebrate the good times.

One thing I'm really proud of is that when someone needs advice, comfort or a shoulder to cry on you lot are all there for her, and that is worth a King's ransom!

I'll think I'll just pop into the Tea Rooms and order a Full English for breakfast!

No no Nana! Perish the very thought. Another forum for Grandparents I sometimes lurk on. I think compared to others, Gransrus has it spot on.

I go through the list from top to bottom of new topics, otherwise I might miss them, if I think it’s not holding my interest by the title I don’t read it naughty maybe but I don’t have dogs and cats wish I did have a cat , I don’t always feel as if I’ve got time to go on everything I can’t believe I’m retired I have a busy day most days , ok so I’m OCD there I’ve said it , I don’t always have anything to say on chat my days go in and out as I’ve mentioned before on here , but I’m always her for any problems and that means a lot , I sometimes start threads off and find it interesting to see the follow ups.
Ive made many friends on here and I’m not about to go anywhere else 🤗
