I have just made a warming pan of Carrot & Red Pepper Soup as seen on "Tesco Nanas Soup " advert and whilst browsing the ingredients had a look at the other recipies they had on their list and they all sound delicious,on Monday I am going to do spicy bean soup and slowly work down the list,the list has loads of combinations I have never thought of to be honest if nothing else it will keep me out of mischief.

B just made a lovely pan of tomato and meat ball soup a family favourite and well loved during the winter , we also love home made lentil soup

Oma I make a mean ham shank & lentil soup (nanna's recipe) and love it the next day when the lentils have thickened, meatballs & lentils sounds delicious.

I'm just having a pre-dinner glass of wine, and you're making me hungry with these delicious soups! I only ever seem to make vegetable soup, minestrone, tomato, and leek & potato. I must get more adventurous.

Daisy do spend a while browsing the BBC website most of the ingredients are everyday things we have in stock.

We aren't very adventurous when it comes to soup.
Our favourites are tomato,mushroom and chicken and mushroom.
Hubby also likes vegetable soup.I don't.

Butternut soup is one of my favorites, tomato and red lentil is good. Waitrose have a bag of ingredients to make Minestrone soup, only have to add a tin of tomatoes and stock. Very easy

I overbought on leeks (ordering on line does have its perils) so have two big pour and stores of leek and potato soup and also vegetable soup in the freezer. We will have soup and cheesy garli. Bread for dinner one night, the soups are very hearty so as good as a “proper” meal.

I use BBC recipe website when I am bored with usual stuff and want something different but I rarely use the whole recipe, just pick bits out of it that I fancy.

Granma2aj - I had parsnip and apple soup in a local pub a while ago, and it was delicious. I'd forgotten about it, but must have a go at making it myself.

It sounds as though you have quite a large family! I hope the birthday boy enjoyed himself.
