I saw this recipe on FB some time ago so today I gave it a go and I must say they went down well , just plain scones with jam and cream , my DD doesn't like fruit scones, so she loved them
8 oz SR flour
150 mils double cream
150 mils lemonade
nothing else just those three things.
mix all ingredients in a bowl with a metal knife ( no idea why but it has to be a knife ) , at first it doesn't look like it will work but it mixes to a soft dough
turn it out onto a floured work top and kneed lightly for 1 minute then cut out . My mixture made 6
place on a tray close together but not touching , think they support each other , bake on 200 for 15 mins mine took 20 mins
cool and dollop with jam and cream .
DD and SIL made short work of them and although I prefer fruit scones I did like these they were very light.
The recipe on FB said( 4) cups of flour, (I) 300 mill cream (1 )can lemonade but that made 12 scones too much for us so I halved the quantity wasn't sure how much 4 cups of flour was so used 8 oz
