Oh. Just writing it all down, do you beat the eggs first or just add them to the bowl? How high are the tins please? Can you tell I'm determined to crack this?😂

don't beat the eggs just crack them into the bowl. Tins are approx 2" deep. Good luck!

Avo - congratulations on your success! If you need any one to come and sample your next entry I'm sure I can make myself available!!

I don't add baking powder if I'm using ordinary SR flour (as opposed to gluten-free SR).

Nana - I find I have to put my oven on a bit higher than any recipe says, and of course the temperature will vary depending on where the shelf is placed unless it's a fan oven. I use my Magimix food processor for cakes (I haven't got an ordinary electric mixer) and that works fine, but it does help a little if I sieve the flour in rather than just dumping into the bowl.

Right sleeves rolled up. This cake is going to be made after lunch. Before I do it I'll test the oven temp again. I'll let you know how it goes.😱

Nana - good luck with it. As Avo says, pity we can't all taste a slice - I'm sure it will be perfect this time.

RESULT!!!! Just turned it out. This was half of the recipe. Thank you so much. I had to make some oven temperature alterations before I began. Has anyone been so excited on a sponge rising. House smells yummy too. 🙌👍💓
