    A little group!

For some time now I have wanted to enjoy more theatre and cinema outings than I do.

OH likes some, but not nearly as many things as I do, and she doesn't always catch all the dialogue which doesn't make for an enjoyable time for her.
I don't mind going alone sometimes, but it is a social thing and I am a sociable animal so to have company is good.

I decide to utilise my old friend Facebook. By appealing to FB friends with an open request over the years I have acquired several paving slabs for OH's greenhouse base, been lent litter trays for when we moved to this house, found someone to collect a dolls house from Liverpool that I bought on e bay, Sold a roll top desk, and many other things I can't recall now.

This time I asked if any friends wanted to go with me to cinema or theatre any time.
I now have a little group (we have our own closed FB group) a few friends and my DD2's MIL. All keen to see things. We may sometimes go as a group, which will be fun, and other times 2 or 3 of us may go.
Who knew all these people were keen to have someone to go the the theatre and cinema with! None of then are single, but like me they enjoy these outings more than their OHs do.

As well as my little local group. I have friends from North Carolina, London. Cambridge and Southport and Wales who would like to join if closer

Gem - I saw your original message about it on FB, and wished I lived closer!!!

I am very lazy about organising things like theatre outings, and it's not very often OH and I decide months in advance (our main theatre sells out very quickly) that on such and such a night that's where we will be, so we tend to go with an organised group. OH belongs to a pensioners' group of ex-colleagues and the new secretary is very proactive - which it why we've been to the theatre twice in the last few months.

What a great idea Gems specially if your partner is not keen on the theme being shown at the pictures at the time there have been many times I have wanted to see a film and not gone as I had no one to go with. Here near Liverpool we have so many really good smaller theatre's such as The Liverpool Playhouse & Floral Pavillion we tend to have quite a lot of local actors in these performances including the McCann brothers who are a local family to Liverpool.
