    Tinned prunes!

We ate at DD2's house yesterday. SIL cooked. A wonderful roast chicken dinner, with many veggies, roast potatoes, Yorkshires etc. Perfect.
He then told us he had got some stick from DD on his choice of the dessert to serve us, but he thought we would like it.
Well he was right. Tinned prunes and custard. We both love them and hadn't had them for years. Not an obvious choice when having guests round for a meal I suppose, but much enjoyed and appreciated by us. The children were not impressed however!

What other simple desserts do you like?
We like tinned fruit with evaporated milk. We don't often have it but when we do we enjoy it, and I am partial to butterscotch Angel Delight

Gem - I love tinned prunes and custard, and its close cousin, stewed plums and custard!

I'll have to have a think about other long-forgotten delights!

Takes me back to my childhood, they were a regular pudding option in our house .Mum used to stew dried prunes ,only buying tinned prunes occasionally.
I have stewed dried prunes before now but in orange juice rather than sugar and water like mum used to do.

As it happens I have just mixed prunes into my Yoghurt for lunch , we love Prunes and custard , in fact any kind of prunes ,
I'm with Clover fruit in jelly , I'm a big jelly fan
I like tinned rice but B cant stand it so I often buy a little tin just for me.

I like Banana or strawberry Angel delight , I cant eat real bananas so this is the nearest I can get

Trifle especially Sherry Trifle anytime of the day I could eat that ,
Has to be Jelly with fruit in , Sherry soaked trifle fingers ,Thick custard , Dream Topping and crushed flake on top

Stewed Plums and custard like Daisy another yummy desert

Banana custard, tinned peaches and evap, prunes any way you like, home made rice pud, none of which we ever have as OH is diabetic. If we have guests I make a mean bread and butter pud.

Well ladies,i'm afraid you can all keep your prunes. Hubby would eat them, but not me.

We both love tinned or homemade rice pudding.
                    Also like bananas with custard.
I wll eat a little bit of trifle,if it's not sherry trifle, but hubby loves it with sherry.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

My pudding-in-a-hurry is jam, or marmalade, sponge with custard. I do it in a Pyrex bowl in the microwave. The beauty of it is it doesn't keep, so you have to have seconds - it's the law!!!

Clover - it's also nice with Golden Syrup, with extra GS poured on instead of - or as well as - custard!
