A Suitable Topping for a Pizza?

OH went shopping last week. On the list was 'pizza for freezer', meaning a fresh pizza but not for immediate eating - pop it in the freezer for days when I really can't be bothered to do anything else.

He usually gets Margeurita or Ham and Pineapple (his 2 favourites), but this time he came home with a ginormous box, containing a ginormous deep, loaded pizza! It was topped with cheddar cheese, mozzarella, tomato salsa, sweetcorn, jalepeno peppers and spiced pulled pork. It was big enough to feed a small army!

Tonight I cooked it (my Domestic Goddess persona was having a day off!). We managed less than half of it - between us and OH was very put our to find it was too 'hot' for him! It hadn't occurred to him that tomato salsa, jalepeno peppers and pulled pork done in spices might add up to a pretty hot dish!!!

I thought it was quite tasty, but definitely not what I'd call a pizza topping. I also don't think chicken or ham or other meats have any right to be on my pizza! I'm probably just a grumpy, stick in the mud old biddy, but I wish the food designers would keep their hands of my traditional pizza!!!

I'm fairly boring with my pizza toppings! I have either Margherita, or a veggie one with various vegetables on. I'm not keen on any meats on pizza, and certainly wouldn't have been too keen on the one your OH chose daisy

Gem - same here. Pizza shouldn't have meat on it - ever!!!

I'm not keen on Pizza but if I do eat it- it either has to be Veg or Motzerella & Peperoni , don't like pineapple or ham on or pulled pork certainly not jalepeno's and has to be thin crust , but to be honest cant remember last time I ate Pizza , B likes them and he does do a lovely home made one from scratch with Veg but even then I only nibble a small slice .

Aggie - I think my breadmaker does pizza dough as well, but I've never tried it. I bet it's much nicer than shop-bought bases.

We are not fond of pizza. On the odd occasion we have had one, it's been ham and pineapple.

Our Italian friends have a wood burning pizza oven in there garden, on bank holiday Monday we went to their annual pizza party and mine was cheese, tuna, anchovies topped with additional cheese and then once out of the oven olive oil and rocket. It was yummy!
