My brother used to eat chunks of bread in hot milk. We didn't have any cereals, war babies and rationing.

I can remember friends being given bread and milk if they were ill. I definitely wouldn't have eaten it - ugh!

Plant - I was trying to remember when cereals were available. Around 1950 I think there were cornflakes, weetabix and rice crispies. Possibly shredded wheat as well.

Because of my hiatus hernia I daren't have late night munchies

I have a last meal at about 6ish and then that is it or else when I go to bed I get , at best, heartburn, at worse, pain , which can be mistaken for a heart attack .

Mimi, that must be very frustrating if it gets to bedtime and you're hungry. 😟
