    Festive Gains

Had a fabulous lunch with DS2 yesterday. He is a great cook I must say. Smoked haddock and pancetta risotto which I suspect contained all sorts of other calorific things as well. So this morning I thought it might be a good time to check the scales. Okay confession; gained four pounds over Christmas. Eating richer food and not moving around as much as usual are to blame; oh yes and the marzipan chocolates might not have helped. I think it might be time for the Michael Mosley Fast Diet for a few weeks now. Funny how quickly four pounds goes on and how long it will take to come back off again.

I have over indulged as well as most of us no doubt, but back on the SW plan when New Year starts. We have loads of delicious goodies to get rid of.

Yes I did Gem and I tend to think that the Christian calendar has so few feast days that it is right to make the best of it. It would be churlish not to.

Too much here too, but cut back drastically from today and no wine for a week at least

              Enjoyed it though

I have a poor appetite (which you wouldn't believe given the weight I am) so hardly ate any lunch Christmas Day and didn't have a proper meal last night as we Grazed during the day. Today we made a huge feast for the family but I had very little. I think it will be a graze evening meal again. I doubt if I have put on any extra weight. I don't generally buy sweets for Christmas although I was given some shortbread by a neighbour which I dare not open because I know that once opened I will not be able to stop.

I would rather have a little bit on the plate and then have a bit more after I have eaten it rather than a big plate piled high. On Christmas Day lunch we had turkey which I generally am not too fond of, ham hock and vegetables. We had pate and Melba toast for starters which would really have been enough for me. I did however have a pudding of brioche bread and butter pudding which I know was calorific but soooo nice.

For today I bought a good selection of cheese as both my daughter in laws love cheese and we did a baked Camembert with home made garlic and rosemary focaccia. We also had a big buffet and a chocolate ganache cake with fresh raspberry top. Unfortunately they were all overhung and not particularly in the mood for eating although the children did a good job of hovering over the food and picking the bits they liked.

I've decided our scales are out of bounds until after New Year's Eve! I don't want to break them.

I'm just hoping I can get into my unforgiving outfit at New Year. 😬

I am not going near scales until at least Tuesday when I hope the sweetie fairy has seen fit to remove the two tubs of Roses/Quality Street from the spare room and the boxes of Thorntons choc's which have appeared in the cupboard I feel I should be making a trip to the day centre and making a donation for their afternoon treats.

We have a pile of 6 boxes of chocolates, plus a tin of Roses and one of Quality Street - with an extra dose of the purple ones! OH can take a couple of boxes for a charity raffle next week, but they are all chocs I like apart from the Roses and QS, and OH has already opened those!

Help! I need some wil power - or rather 'won't power' as in 'I won't eat all those chocolates'!!!

We have lots of chocolates around. I intend to put them in drawer upstairs, and indulge slightly at weekends! Only 9 weeks to my holiday.

I,ve just checked on my calendar Gems and its 10 weeks to our holiday so I better get a wiggle on in more ways than one I think,I should if I try hard enough loose a few lbs before then just around the tummy and boobs would be good for me as that it where it tends to get "stuck" I am fortunate to have some nice floaty tops etc which hide a multitude of sins.
