Tonight ,(well considering the time it's technically last night ) we went as a family to a new Turkish restaurant that's opened near us , it's the last family meal out for quite some time ,I must say we enjoyed every bite , it's a very long time since we had authentic Turkish food last time is when we visited Turkey about 10 years ago . All 7 of us had starters , main ,and desert ,plus coffee,s and drinks and it only came to £135 let than £20 a head , GS1 couldn't finish his so they packed it up for him to bring home . We never have 3 courses normally 2 at the most but it was delicious, I now can't sleep though I feel so full still . Once OH out of hospital and able to mingle again we all agreed we will go back . It's so nice to find a restaurant that everyone likes and good quality food, plus the young couple who run it all by themselves with just a chef were so attentive and coped with a almost full restaurant smoothly . A lovely night

It's good that you all enjoyed the meal Oma. Iv'e never tried Turkish food, even when we were in Turkey years ago.
I'm not one for foreign food at all. Much prefer English food. Hubby is a lot more adventurous with food than i am.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma we do love Turkish food we first tried it when in Turkey quite a few years ago I myself like to have the messe plate of mixed little entrees OH likes the spicy meats wrapped in cabbage leaves,we do have a restaurant opposite where I work but I have never been there for a meal it has a really good reputation so we must make the effort at sometime, well done to the owners it sounds as though they are really hard working people I hope their business does well for them.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Oma - what a lovely evening you enjoyed, with the promise of another night there when OH is fit and well again. I wish the young couple every success too. They certainly deserve it.
I've never tried Turkish food. OH isn't very adventurous and he'd only be persuaded to go somewhere new if one of the family dragged him there!

There is an outstanding Turkish restaurant in Drury Lane that husband took me to when we were in town for my 60th last year. It is festooned with flowers outside and very "interesting" inside, looks like it should have been a theatre. Cannot remember what it was called but we intend to go back there again some time. Glad you had a good family evening Oma. Sending best wishes for a good outcome of BIf you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

I was an Au Pair in Istanbul in my youth. I loved the food and, of course the coffee. When we go to London we usually eat at Effie's which is a Turkish restaurant. We always have an enjoyable meal.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.
