    Chocolate!

While I am online The Andrew Marr show is on TV in the background. They were doing an article on chocolate.
Its started me thinking how almost everyone I know loves chocolate. I know a couple of people for whom chocolate does nothing, but the majority love it.

I am not so keen on dark chocolate, which is said to be the best for us. I love milk chocolate and my favourite is Lindt. When I am a very old lady, I shall be having a bar of Lindt every night

I really dislike the American Hersheys - yukk!! A friend of mine who is on the tasting panel at the local Nestle factory once told me that they had to taste that, and she explained why it tastes so awful to us. I seem to remember it was sour milk?! To American tastes it is good as they grew up with it, I suppose!

Strangely for a chocolate lover I'm not very keen on chocolate cakes or puddings. I will eat them if given them of course, but they would never be my choice.

Are you a chocoholic, or does chocolate leave you cold? Which types do you prefer?

Not plain yuk, hubs has a square of dark chocolate which is high in cocoa content every day apparently it's good for you. At the moment passing the sweet aisle in a supermarket is a real test for me as I am without doubt a chocaholic, particular favourites are toffiffee, malteserers and Lindor chocolates.

I love dark chocolate Green & Black's for me the ginger one is yummy , I only have a couple small pieces though . I do like Galaxy and Lindt and Lindores but milk chocolate tends to be rather sweet these days I don't eat a lot sometimes I can go weeks without fancying any then I get a real craving . The one thing I do love is fudge but I NEVER buy it as I can't just have one piece I have to eat the whole pack and not good for a diabetic 😊 My friend often brings me a little bag of home made fudge from a expensive shop she goes too , only 4 cubes in a pack so I can't over indulge

dark chilli chocolate mmmmm. I must admit I don't eat a lot of chocolate these days as once I start I cannot stop. I will eat milk chocolate but it is definitely not my favourite. I also like the lime chocolate but chilli is my fav. I am same a Gem I don't favour chocolate cake/sponge etc. but if it is put in front of me, well it would be rude not to eat it. I once made a rather spectacular chocolate and Coca Cola cake which I was very proud of but only made it once as it was such a faff. Husband makes a gorgeous chocolate and raspberry cake but I rarely get a taste because it is usually for the last day of the training courses he runs and his students gobble it all up so I don't get a look in.

Did anyone make the Blue Peter chocolate cake which required a whole jar of mayonnaise?? My 2 older daughters persuded me to make it. I don't know why I did as we really didn't have money to spare for mayonnaise in those days!! As far as I remember, it tasted no different to any other chocolate cake

I love dark chocolate. The darker the better. I have just one square every evening - I could probably manage more, but usually one is enough. I eat it very slowly enjoying every little bit of it. I'm sure milk chocolate has got sweeter. At one time I quite liked it but nowadays it tastes of chemicals and is sickly.

Chocolate brownies and cake and chocolate puddings - they're the real deal - but not shop-bought ones. Again they're too sickly and not chocalately enough.

Chocoholics at this house.Hubby loves dark chocolate, but will eat any. Dark not my favourite but I will eat it. We always have quite a stash of chocolate in the fridge.Mind you, we always have a stash of none chocolate sweets as well.
Forgot to say, I always bring quite a bit of Hersheys back when we go to America. Sometimes they sell it on ships doing Caribbean cruises.
