I know this is not the same thing but I also grow tomatoes and my crop has been amazing over the last couple of years. My strawberries have been rubbish - not one single one last year. I grew gooseberries one year and got loads but they were really sour so didn't bother to grow them again.

I'd totally forgotten about the herbs that I grow - I was so proud of sorting out my herb/spice cupboard that they slipped my mind! It's reminded me that I must get a fresh French Tarragon plant this year. I kept one for several years in a pot in the greenhouse. It died down in the winter but grew again in the spring but last year it got overwhelmed by a weed and I couldn't separate them. It's a lovely herb to use fresh, I think, with a delicate summery flavour.

My gooseberry and raspberry bushes drowned in the floods on the allotment 2 winters ago and I've never replaced them.

Plant - the only downside to gooseberries is picking them without getting maimed by the thorns!
