What do you use the air fryer for?

This is prompted by Daisy mentioning that she doesn't feel she uses her air fryer enough.

I am still quite new to air fryers, so still discovering ways to use ours.

Since we got the air fryer, we have never used the oven for croissants, hot cross buns or garlic bread. All work very well and faster in the air fryer. I also warm scones in there.
Salmon in foil, one of our regular meals is always done in the air fryer now instead of the oven. I have cooked chops, breaded fish fillets, chips of course, roasted carrots and other veg.
I don't think we have cooked sausages in there, but I will be trying that next time we have sausages.

Gem, you've done better than me! I did some stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in bacon in the air fryer (as per the recipe) and it was a faff. Both DIL1 and DS2 have used it when they've been here and helping in the kitchen - they both use theirs a lot. I've done jacket potatoes - once, and something else which I can't remember at the moment.

We generally only have croissants when we're away in the caravan and we only have the gas oven in there. But salmon sounds promising. I keep forgetting that you can use foil - I'm so used to the microwave. How long does two portions of salmon take?

    I must try harder.

Yes, foil is fine in the air fryer Daisy, as long as it doesn't touch the element. I often line the fryer pan with it to make washing up easier.
I think it's 8 to 10 minutes for the salmon, possibly a minute or two longer.

I only have a tiny cheap air fryer as I just don’t have the space for anything bigger. As I ‘m on my own it’s large enough for a frozen individual pie or vegetarian item. I have crisped up jacket potatoes after starting them off in the microwave.Sausages are good as well and of course chips!

Ooh we have never tried pies in there Clover! We sometimes get individual pies.

We do Quorn 'Chicken' and mushroom slices in there, which are like pies, but for some reason we haven't done pies!.

Anything that can be cooked in an ordinary oven can be cooked in the air fryer.

Jacket potatoes are cooked in the microwave, then crisped up in the fryer.
Bread chicken, breaded cod and fish fingers, bacon, sausages, gammon, pork chops and steak go in the fryer.
I cook pastry pies, hot pot, cottage pies and fruit crumbles on the bake setting.
If i'm doing chips, roast potatoes or sliced potatoes i take the crisper plate out.
These are done on the roast setting.
I buy Aunt Bessie frozen yorkshire puddings and they only take 2/3 minutes on the air fryer setting.
You can do yorkshires from scratch, but i always buy the frozen ones.
I use foil and baking parchment in the fryer.

Lots of ideas, and good advice. I don't know why I'm finding the air fryer so hard, but I haven't even tried the options like Bake!

I make cakes in ours as well.
Must admit I haven't used all of the settings.

It seems like some kind of mental block for me, Gem. I must just "go for it" and accept some things won't work.

I hadn't even considered removing the crisper tray thing, apart from for washing it. I thought it said don't use it without the tray - I must check!

I think it says that on my airfryer. I only take it out to wash it - both that and the oven part can go in the dishwasher.
