    New to air fryers

After 3 years of deliberation I have finally bought an air fryer.
It should be with us in a few days

Please share with me your experiences!

What do you cook in yours? What do you recommend using it for, and what would you advise not to use it for?

    Thank you

Gem, basically you can cook things which you would cook in a normal oven.
On the odd ocassion we have chips, i do those in mine.
I do my fruit cakes in the air fryer now, and lemon drizzle cakes.
Have you gone for on with dual drawers?
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Following, with great interest as I'm still clueless about my air fryer which I've had for nearly a year!

I keep looking at it and think "I could do so-and-so in there' - but have no ideas about timing or temperatures compared with say, a fan oven.

I have noticed that some foods have air fryer timings on the box now, along with oven, microwave and grill etc.

I must admit to not using mine as often as I could! I do like those with dual drawers Gem, that would have been handier for me, never mind, I have this one now. I have a recipe for a fruit cake so may make that tomorrow.

Bacon, sausages, chips, crisps, salmon, lamb cutlets, scones, chicken and so on. So many things, just look up recipes on line.

Grauntie - wow, that's quite a list! Thank you. I must use mine more than I do at present. Mine is only one drawer, but quite large.

I suppose I should look into buying one.

Gem, good luck. I did nice chunky home-made chips in ours tonight and they were very nice.

Forgot jacket potatoes! Pierce, microwave 10mins on high, whilst pre heating air fryer to 180c or higher, bung in air fryer and cook 10 mins for crispy outside. I notice that lots of convenience food has air fryer timings on the packet now, I.e. chips and chicken dippers!

Grauntie - that's a good idea for nice crisp jacket potatoes. All to often our have just had the 10 mins in the microwave and are cooked but you don't get those nice crispy skins. I noticed air fryer timings on something the other day. It looks like they're here to stay.

I am going to use it today, starting simple! I will cook haddock in breadcrumbs in one drawer (Air fryer instructions are on the box) and home made chips, as Daisy makes them, in the other.
Peas in the microwave, broccoli steamed on the hob.
