    Plenty of Pasta

I always seem to be about to run out of a basic pasta, like penne. I usually get 500g packets. So this week I decided to splash out on a 1 kg packet instead. (How extravagant!). But I couldn't find 1 kg packs when I was doing my online shop, so without really thinking about it I clicked on 3 kg.

I had no idea what 3 kg of pasta looks like! It's huge, and I've no idea where I'm going to put it. Also wondering how long it will take to use it up - wacky ideas are buzzing round, like Penne Porridge!!!

I bet that is a big packet of pasta Daisy!
I have often wondered if pasta could be used as a pudding. As in a sweet version of macaroni cheese for example. Custard instead of the cheese sauce.

Lizzie, I think it might take a while, but I'm looking for new pasta recipes.

Gem, now there's an idea. Perhaps pasta cooked with a little honey and topped with cooked apples or other fruit - and served with custard - rather like an upside down crumble!

Iā€™m sure we had macaroni as a pud at school. Like rice pud but with macaroni instead of rice, served with a blob of jam in the centre.
when my girls were little they used an old coffee table and glued pasta in all shapes and sizes on top. We must have coated it in glue or similar.
How about pasta curtains Daisy. It will keep the nasties out in summer. šŸ˜†
When I think of some more excellent ideas I will let you know. šŸ˜‰

Grauntie, I think you're right about macaroni as a pud at school.

Pasta curtains for the kitchen door - now there's a thought. Penne would be easy to thread. I'd just have to make sure we closed the real door when it rained, and make sure Eva wasn't sitting by it when her dinner's due.

Oh my goodness , it would never get used in our house as Iā€™m not a pasta lover ,
We eat it occasionally but not often enough .
I would be interested to know if you can have it as a dessert though šŸ˜€

Daisy, can't suggest any recipes as we don't eat pasta. Neither of us like it.

Nanto, I suspect we won't be too keen on pasta by the time we've waded through 3kg.
