Chicken Breasts

Have you been able to buy chicken breasts with skin on recently? I tried in Asda and Waitrose this morning with no joy.
I had a quick Google when I got home and one of the reasons given was the fat content in the skin. What a load of twaddle! I prefer to have the skin for the fat content to keep the chicken moist.
Both shops had plenty of legs and wings with skin on as well as whole chickens of course.
I was so disappointed I had to buy a custard slice instead.
I guess I’ll have to wrap the poor skinless things in bacon. (Breasts, not the custard slice)

Well a custard slice is better than a chicken breast anyway ,😁

I must admit I hadn’t noticed till you said and your right , I think but I’m not sure the corn fed chicken breast in Aldi had skin but I can’t be sure , I may have imagined it 😁

Lizzie and Oma, the custard slice was wonderful!
Oma, I bought all singing, all dancing (well, once upon a time maybe) breasts. We have guests for the weekend so I wanted a decent flavour. Maybe I should have tried Aldi. 😑

Grauntie - I hadn't noticed - in fact I think Sainsbury's have them, but I'm not sure. I'm sure your guests will enjoy skinless chicken and custard tarts! Have a lovely week-end.

😆😆 ladies.
I talked myself out of serving Daisy’s combination and had the tarragon sauce instead. Very tasty.
It was a very herby, spicy weekend foodwise. Mint in the spuds, tarragon in sauce, garlic in the roasted tomatoes, caraway seeds in the cake, thyme on the roasted carrots and chilli in the mango salsa which went with the gammon. We are still alive and my guests were when they left earlier this evening.
It’s been a long time since we entertained and we did enjoy it. 😁
I will probably spend most of tomorrow in the smallest room but it was worth it!

Grauntie - that all sounds totally delicious. Please can I go on your guest list for next time - if I promise to bring my own custard tarts? I do hope you were ok yesterday, despite your worries.

We all got out of the way of entertaining, didn't we, during those lockdowns. It's hard work, but a lot of fun as well. x
