Palm Oil

I have just been shopping with GD1 and she mentioned that she watched the David Attenborough programme shown recently about saving the planet. I was informed that I should not buy anything which contained palm oil, that included my Garibaldi biscuits!. I think she had been checking the shelves at work and pointed out during our shop things I should avoid. A lot of biscuits and cakes contain palm oil also soaps. I shall be making my own Garibaldi biscuits. Waitrose biscuits are free from palm oil. Thank goodness it doesn't include wine and brandy.

Plant Palm oil is in many things , you could spend hours in a shop checking labels

GS2 loves Garibaldi biscuits so at least we are getting one thing right.

I try to avoid it if I can, but it's really hard. The more we complain the more manufacturers will look for alternatives which are healthier and less damaging to the environment.

Palm oil is also high in saturated fats.
