    Baking Day

    I'm trying not to buy supermarket cakes, so this afternoon I set to and did a bit of baking - a banana loaf, matrimonial cake and Irish soda bread.

    Only half the soda bread made it onto the cooling rack. I can't imagine what happened to the other half!

    It all looks lovely Daisy, nothing like homemade bread and cakes

    I'll pass on the banana bread though!
    I don't like banana bread ( or anything with bananas in it, although I love bananas!)

              Very yummy, I love banana bread. I make it in my bread maker machine. I am eating one from the freezer atm.

                Aww, thank you, everyone.

                Gem - I don't like things with banana in either, but my DS1 gave me the recipe and I actually like it. It's nice and moist but not too 'banana-ery'.

                Plant - does your banana bread recipe use yeast and strong flour?

                Mu OH was a bit doubtful about soda bread, but he liked this wholemeal one - I think I'll be making it again, so it's a good job it's easy.
