    Trying different meals

Do you stick to the same old tried and tested favourites at home, or do you experiment and try something different sometimes?
I have a repertoire of meals which I cook, and OH the same, with a smaller repertoire.

I am not a big fan of recipes, mostly cooking with the throw everything together method!

I sometimes feel like a change and think I should try some new recipes. It's so easy nowadays, with the internet at our fingertips.
Finding new tasty meals with no chili can be a challenge these days (it's everywhere!) but it is my mission to try.
If I find anything new that I like I will add it to the Recipes section once we have tried it.

I love trying new recipes and also chucking stuff together to see what happens!

We try anything once. If we don't like it we won't try again. B is a wonderful cook and can throw anything together . He's a off the top of your head cook.
He will try recipes though and tweek them to our liking. I don't like Garlic so he will either leave it out or use as little as possible .

Years ago I used to make a Rabbit dish for him with prunes but it's so long ago since I have had to cook I can't remember It now and we couldn't get hold of Rabbit for a long time.
We now know of a supplier so he's going to try a recipe he found on line.

we do have our favorites though .Also good old go to one's like Chips egg & beans

I have a few tried and tested party pieces, included the now famous flambéed tomatoes! If I have to cook a serious piece of meet I tend to do a pot roast of topside. I've got a couple of variations on salmon, plus easy things like cottage pie.

But mostly I wander into the kitchen and peer at what's in the fridge and throw a few things together. Last night it was haddock which I microwaved and added to a stir fry of green veggies, chilli noodles and various sorts of flavouring.

Today with the girls here I did chips, eggs and peas and beans (one likes peas and one beans!)

I'm not one for trying new recipes,as i hate cooking.
When i batch cook for the freezer,i have about 6 recipes that i stick to.
We stick to mainly English meals. Now and again hubby will have a ready meal.Usually Chicken Tikka Masala.
Neither of us likes pasta, and i don't like garlic.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto - your pies always sound delicious and I know my OH would love it if I made some for him, but you are very organised and prepare things ahead. I hardly ever think about a meal until half an hour or so before we want to eat.

I like stir-fry Daisy, it is so quick and easy. I only cook meals for myself that are quick and although I have favourites, I do try to experiment at times with new recipes. I am not very good with just throwing things together.

We have our favourites but like trying something new. We don’t eat a lot of red meat, it’s mainly chicken, fish and pasta. I use my slow cooker a lot to batch cook for the freezer and these days I go for the easy option. Luckily, DH is not a fussy eater, he’d live on the same couple of meals if I let him. Also luckily, we both like the same things which makes life easier.
