    I’m with you Daisy. I get very creative with the contents of my salads. In the winter I tend to do casseroles, shepherds/cottage or fish pie served with a side salad. I love fruit pie or crumbles with custard for dessert, but I only make them when I have company. When I’m on my own I usually have fresh fruit with yogurt or fromage Frais. Sometimes I just have a apple and an orange, but I always have dessert of some sort.

        I agree about the pudding thing Sunshine and Daisy!
        It is usually yogurt or fruit, or sometimes sometime like a cereal bar, but I usually have seem type of sweet ending to meals

          It's been a bitterly cold day today, but for some reason neither of us felt very hungry. We had home made soup for lunch so I ended up making omelettes with mushrooms, red peppers and a dollop of cottage cheese mixed into the eggs. Plus the inevitable salad, of course!

            Oooo, I like the combo of omelette with cottage cheese mixed in. I must give it a try Daisy.

              Omelettes are a favourite with us Daisy, must try that combo. I like mine with salad but P can’t eat salad so he has chips! I’d like chips too but try to be healthy 😏

                I've used cottage cheese in a low-calorie frittata recipe my DS2 gave me. I was surprised how nice it was, to be honest, but this was the first time I've tried it in an omelette. I used one egg less than I would normally and it looked a bit unappetising going into the pan. I had to finish it off under the grill to cook it through, but OH's verdict was 'tasty', so I'll do it again.

                    After reading some of the favourite warming meals I have sent OH out to the freezer to get some sausages for sausage & mash for tonight its one of his favourites.
                    We love any casseroles and cottage pies/rissoles/liver & onions/any curry & rice/and stir fry's.
                    I do make my own pies every few weeks and will freeze 4/5 of them but OH just loves M&S chicken pie with shortcrust pastry its one of his favourites I just can't get the filling the same as when I make chicken pies.

                      Last night I made bolognese and a shepherd's pie, both with minced lamb. OH and I had the bolognese with pasta last night, and the shepherds pie is for us and the GC tomorrow night.
                      OH is in charge of tea tonight, I'm sure it will be something warm!
