    Wiltshire Farm Foods

As some of you know my 90 year old auntie has started to have these delivered. She had some last week and some more are arriving on Tuesday.
She showed us the brochure and my mouth was watering by the time I had looked through.
There is an amazing choice of foods of all types and in 3 sizes, and delicious looking puddings!
I know these photos make things look better than they are, but this company has a good name.

I was surprised at the prices, no more than a good quality ready meal anywhere. Delivery is free
I certainly wouldn't be adverse to ordering from them in the future.

That's good to know Gem , I have wondered if they really are worth the money .
A good way to ensure your Aunt is eating well too , good idea about the sizes too as some don't eat as much as others so being able to choose the size is ideal .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Our neighbours Mum used to have these deliver meals.
Her Mum was in her mid 90's, and loved the meals.

It is good to know there are good ready meals for people who can no longer cook for themselves. It is so important to have a healthy meal every day especially when we are getting on a bit.

Our neighbours have similar from Oakhouse Foods. The meals are delivered every week and I think the driver must put them in the freezer for them as he seems to take quite a while in the house. I don't think the husband is too keen, but his wife says she's getting too old to cook from scratch....she is 88 after all.

It sounds a really good service from both companies.

At one time my DS2 used to get Go Fresh, where you choose the meals you want and the number of portions and you get all the ingredients - even down to salt and pepper. The quality was brilliant, and the recipes gave really clear instructions. He said he also learned a lot by using ingredients he would never have thought about. It's lead to him being fairly handy in the kitchen!! Obviously not as convenient as Wiltshire Foods etc, but for someone who wants to cook but has trouble shopping, or anticipating what ingredients are needed it's ideal. I think the recipes are even graded from 'easy' to 'advanced'.

Gem, out of curiosity I have just looked on the Wilshire Farm Foods website and I was surprised to discover that the prices haven't increased as much as I thought they might have done considerating that dad used to have their foods regularly but that was 10 years ago.

I think it’s really useful for some people, and has the added advantage that you don’t end up with nearly full bottles and packets you never use again.

My sister also has these meals and says they are very nice. She started having them when she broke her leg and has continued to have them occasionally since. They save her having to stand for too long in the kitchen.

Sounds like a good idea, Gem. I’d often wondered what they were like, nice to have first hand knowledge.

I have always fancied trying them Gems its good others have treid them and the reviews are all positive,I first thought about them when I had that dreaded accident with my shoulder but managed with John doing the cooking for us.
I am seriously thinking of getting a delivery for the days that I don't feel like cooking because at the moment I find myself so busy with the training of Dolly hense me not being on here as often as I would like to be.

Glamm - it's surprising how much time a young puppy takes - but it's well worth investing that time and trouble now while Dolly's so young. I f you can get out of spending ages in the kitchen some days I'm sure it would help your shoulder too.
