    Vegetables

    Do you like them?

They are so good for us. Full of vitamins, fibre, antioxidants (some of them) and all sort of good things.
Part of the 5 a Day which we should be having.

I love vegetables and salads. I'm not a fan of broad beans and cauliflower is a bit boring, but all other veg I love.

As I get older unfortunately my gut gives me more problems with the brassica veg - cabbage, broccoli, sprouts and the like.
This is so unfair as I love them, and broccoli is deemed to be one of the Superfoods.
I eat them all, but in small portions and even then can suffer with a lot of pain later.
I try to eat more green beans, carrots, peas etc.

I think my favourites, if I could eat what I like with no repercussions, are green beans, broccoli, sprouts, cabbage red and green, mushrooms, carrots and asparagus. I like corn on the cob and peas too.

Vegetables form a large part of my diet, I can't think of a vegetable that I dislike. Not keen on corn, broad beans and aubergines and I am not supposed to eat too many greens because of the warfarin I take. Oh I do dislike okra.

We like some vegetables. Don't like spinach.
I've never bought okra, aubergines, courgettes or butternut squash.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I'm Scottish....we don't do vegetables unless it's carrots, swede and maybe cabbage!! Saying that we had a lovely selection at lunch yesterday and I'd have happily eaten them on their own! Not too keen on broad beans, sprouts but I'll eat them. Like spinach in a curry but not on its own. I like pumpkin/squash soup but OH doesn't. Aubergines OK in moussaka, courgettes in ratatouile.

I love all vegetables. One of my favourite lunches is a big plate of cheesy veg. Very healthy and delicious. I also enjoy a wide variety of roasted veg.

My Pa was a green grocer so we ate all veg and fruit in season and some exotics. I can’t think of a veg I don’t like except swede but I’ll eat it mashed with butter and carrots. Do you remember eating pomegranates with a pin?

Hi Qwerty, cheesy veg is just like cauliflower cheese, only made with a selection of veggies. A big plate of assorted veg covered with a cheese sauce.

Wow Sunshine thats something I have never thought of doing I must have a go.
I love most veg but cannot for the life of me cook butternut squash properly.
On my weight loss menu I eat all sorts of veg every day I love spring cabbage and sprout tops for their strong flavour and portabello mushrooms love them, stuffed with veg mainly sweetcorn and peas.

I love piles of vegetables on my plate and a tiny speck of meat!

Easy peas then Sunshine all the same I wouldn’t have thought of it , I do put cheese sauce on my cauliflower and spread on the rest of my meal, but if not cooking cauliflower never would have made cheese sauce thanks for that 👍🏻
