I'm not the most inspired or diligent cook, but needs must so I do my best. But I'm always on the look out for 'quick fixes' of any sort, and I spotted this (quite long) video. Some tips are well-known, but there were others I shall certainly try out.

Some very good tips there Daisy! I have only watched half of the video so far.
I particularly like the cherry stoning one, and mixing pancake batter in a bottle.

I have tried several of these , the worst one was the tooth pick in the cucumber , I forgot it was there and stabbed myself when I took it out of the salad draw , needless to say I didn't try it again
The one where you use the spoon to peel Ginger works with peeling new potatoes cooked in their skins much better than a knife , although I have tried the dipping in cold water and rubbing the skin off , I couldn't hold the slippery B*****s they kept shooting out of my handsIm not fat just 6ft too small

I must watch the rest of it, I didn't have time to watch it all the first time!
I didn't see what the silver cleaning tip was, but I use toothpaste. Really good for a quick shine up of jewellery before you go out“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - for silver jewellery I use a zinc plate, soda crystals (very cheap from supermarket) and boiling water. You just put the items in and they come out clean! I've had the zinc plate for about 30 years."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
