    Forgotten aunt!

This morning I was thinking about my auntie, and how it was a while since I had seen her, and therefore it must be any time now we were due to meet up, then remembering we were to go out on a Wednesday, and that it was a Wednesday I was now having the GC, so was to phone auntie and reschedule....

Then it hit me that yesterday was that Wednesday, and I had completly forgotten to phone and make another date

I felt terrible. She would have got herself ready for 12, and sat waiting for me
I phoned her today, full of apologies. She is so lovely she said it was fine, she just thought something must have come up!
Anyway we are now going out to lunch next Monday.
I can only think all the extra stuff with my mum lately had put it out of my mind, but I hate to let anyone down and especially my poor auntie.
Fortunately she doesn't seem to hold it against me all all!

    Awww Gem poor Aunt ,
She would know you didn't do it on purpose and you can tell her on Monday . she will understand you have had a lot on your mind and she knows what your Mum is like doesn't she,
I bet you felt awful though , you can make a big fuss of her when you see her make up for it xxxxx

Oh, Gem, I'm quite sure your lovely auntie will have understood, and as Oma says, you can make it up to her on Monday. I'm not surprised it slipped your mind with everything you've got happening. Your mum has taken up a lot of your time, and emotions, just lately, plus various changes to your routines with the GCs. There's only so much we can all cope with.

      Sending you a hug. xx

Thanks Oma and Daisy! I did explain on the phone and will do so better on Monday.
I have felt quite tired recently and I think it is all the emotional strain of caring for and worrying about my mum.

Emotional strain is exhausting, Gem. Try and give yourself a bit of 'me' time - it sounds as though you need it. I prescribe a whole day in the Pamper Room tomorrow. x

We had a lovely time today and she dismissed all my apologies as being no problem at all

Gem - and I'm sure she enjoyed your time together just as much as you did.
